IMPHAL, August 23: The Judicial Magistrate 1st class Special Judge Imphal West today sent one Shiraj Khan, 20 son of (L) Naha Ibungo of Sora Karanji Leikai under Kakching PS to the Sajiwa Central Jail after convicting him in a robbery case.
Shiraj Khan has been lodged under the Sekmai Police custody since August 21 after he was arrested on charges of robbing a hotel where he was working as a helper.
Shiraj had robbed the Henna hotel of Pangaltabi Sekmai on the intervening night of August 19 and 20, following which the hotel owner filed a case of robbery with the Sekmai PS.
Shiraj was arrested from his Kakching Sora residence on August 21 and handed over to the Sekmai PS in connection with the case the same day.
SHiraj had taken a scooter, a sum of Rs 2000, gas cylinder and a gold ring weighing one mohur from the hotel.
