IMPHAL, Aug 24: A team of CDO Imphal East today at around 9:35 am arrested two KCP (Pari Meetei) cadres from Keishampat near Hotel Excellency area.
According to a release of the police, the arrested persons have been identified as Senjam Umakanata Singh, 41, son of S Shasikanta of Waheng Leikai and Binoishahani, 30, son of Bholeshahani of Bihar.
On verification, they disclosed that they were active members of KCP (Pari Meetei) organization and they were involved in extortion of money from the general public, govt officials, businessmen etc.
Further, in another incident at about 9:55 am, CDO Imphal East arrested another KCP (Pari Meetei) woman cadre from her house.
The arrested woman has been identified as Laishram Sharmila Devi, 36, daughter of L Banthan of Nepram Menjor Mamang Leikai.
One mobile phone, two demand letters of KCP (VOC) Central Finance and some receipt of KCP (VOC) central finance were recovered from her possession.
On verification, she disclosed that she is an active member of KCP (Pari Meetei) organization and she was involved in extortion of money from general public and provided shelter for their party cadres, the release said.
