IMPHAL, August 25: The All Zeliangrong Student Union (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) (AZSU-AMN), Zeliangrong Youth Front (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) (ZYF-AMN), Zeliangrong Buadi Manipur (ZBM) and Zeliangrong Students’ Union, Manipur (ZSUM) are constrained to respond to the NSCN(K) press release issued in connection with Nungkao Kinlling incident, wherein NSCN (K) has decided to investigate and reveal the findings to the public on the circumstances leading to the killing of student leader (L) Chunthuigai Kamei.
A statement of the organizations has said, it is nothing but exposing their policy bankruptcy in running the GPRN/NSCN (K) against the Zeliangrong community.
The statement of NSCN(K) is a deliberate act to divert the attention of the public from the issue however, it will not be fruitful because the public have raised their objection after intolerable and excessive harassment have been meted to the Zeliangrong people in the past by the NSCN(K), it said.
It has further continued that chairman, cpt rtd Aduan Ruangmei of NSCN(K) on August 24, issued a statement which appeared in “The Cham” identifying the cadre who committed the crime as one sgt mj Thuipandai Panmei son of Tingsangam Panmei of Goinenglong village. The Zeliangrong public will take necessary, proper and appropriate decision in the public convention to be held on 26th August, at Longmai (Noney) in order to return to normalcy and prevail peaceful and conducive atmosphere in the Zeliangrong areas, it said.
