IMPHAL, August 26: Members of the Committee of Estimates led by its Chairman MLA Khurai Dr Ng Bijoy today inspected the development works taken up by the department of MAHUD, PDA in the area of Sagolband A/C and Langthabal A/C including Lamdeng solid waste disposal site. The tour was also accompanied by the officials of MAHUD and Assembly Secretariat.
The Chairman was accompanied by MLA Sagolband RK Emo, MLA Langthabal KaramSyam, MLA Saikul YamthongHaokip and MLA Wabagai Md Fajur Rahim.
First the team visit Lamdeng solid Waste disposal site at Lamdeng which is 80 plus acre of land and met with the company who took charge of the solid waste management. Chairman Dr. Ng Bijoy said that Lamdeng is the right place for this project and further assured to complete the remaining project by November 26 2012. Chairman added that he and the team have faith in the process carrying out the project to believe the company will sure complete the project on their targeted time allotted. Further the team said that the foreign goods imported for the project are all to the satisfactory level.
The team further visited Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai and looked into the progress work of drainage system under Jawaharlal Nehru Renewable Urban Mission (JNRUM) scheme carried out by PDA, the team also took a inspection on flow of Waisel Marin canal. Later the committees on estimate team visited Waheng Leikai to look into the drain which some are under construction, the team assured the work in drains will complete within a month time.
The committee team led by Dr Ng Bijoy then visited Langthabal where they met Lilong Nagar Panchayat officials. A memorandum was also submitted to the visiting team by the Lilong Nagar Panchayat. Chairman Dr Ng Bijoy said the Government will take steps to uplift and develop Lilong Keithel.
