IMPHAL, September 3: The People’s Price Monitoring Committee (PPMC) has urged the Union Home Ministry to check the illegal blockades perpetrated by various civil organizations along both national highways as a measure to check the fluctuating prices of essential commodities.
According to a release of PPMC publicity secretary CH Gopalmacha Singh has stated that there is no proper monitoring body of the state government to check the price inflation and the monopolizing of various trades by the bazar business community.
The organization has further urged the concern authorities including Chief Minister to institute a highway protection force to safeguard the transport convoys.
The release also mentioned that the endeavour of the organization is aimed at uplifting the status of the marginalized section of the Manipuri society and further appealed the public to reciprocate the stands of the organization.
