IMPHAL, Sept 6: Troops of 15 Assam Rifles, 9 Assam Rifles and 6 DOGRA under Hq IGAR (S) launched a joint operation around the Moreh Gate no 2 on September 5 and apprehended one KCP (N) cadre.
According to a statement of the PRO IGAR, the apprehendee has been identified as s/s administration advisor of KCP (N) Loitangbam Rajesh Singh, 50 son of (L) Ekamani Singh of Nagamapal lamabam Leikai.
He was later handed over to the Imphal West police station.Meanwhile, a combined team of Imphal West commandos and the 10th Assam Rifles conducted a search operation at the Yerum hill near Bongyang village today around 6am and recovered two .32mm pistols containing six rounds each in the magazines, while armed cadres of the KCP (MC) Lamyanba Khuman managed to escape towards the western side of the jungle, a statement of the Imphal West SP said.
