IMPHAL, Sept 19: The proscribed People’ Revolutionry Party of Kangleipak( Progressive) today clarify that Takhellambam Govin, who was allegedly killed in an encounter with Imphal East Police Commandoes last Monday was in no way related to the organization.
A press statement issued by its senior information officer, Bobby Mangang stated that Takhellambam Govin has nothing to do with the organization. The press clarification made by the family members that Govin was once a member of PREPAK is baseless, he added.
The outfit also cautioned the general public that surrendered undergrounds were used by the Indian agents in fulfilling their needs. They are best to be termed as traitors, the statement added.
He further stated, “While the government is unable to provide security and basic needs to its people, the surrendered undergrounds are lured in different ways. The people have to be careful.”
It may be mentioned that Govin was allegedly killed in an encounter with police commandoes between Yurubung and Kharason under Lamlai police station on 17 September.
