IMPHAL, Oct 21: The 8-day programme titled ‘Prime Minister 15-Points Programme for the welfare of Minorities’ concluded on October 18. The 8-days program which was organized by Kasturba Gandhi Seva Ashram (KGSA) Khongman Zone 3, Imphal East, had started on October 11.
This programme was held at various parts of Imphal East district, and focused to disseminate information to enhance the needs of community participation in the government development schemes. The said programme was sponsored by Song and Drama Division, under Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India.
During the function various resources persons lectures on various topic related with the programme.
The Prime Minister’s 15-Point Programme for the Welfare of Minorities was introduced in 2006 with a view to incorporate programme specific interventions so that benefit of various Government schemes for the underprivileged reach the disadvantaged sections of the minority communities. The New Programme envisages location of certain proportions of development projects in minority concentration areas. It also provides that, wherever possible, 15% of targets and outlays under various schemes should be earmarked for minorities.
