IMPHAL, October 25: The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninst), Manipur State Council has strongly come down against Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde’s statement which straight away rejected the implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the state.

A statement of the party said, “The Manipur State Assembly considering the people’s wishes had passed a private member’s resolution to urge the ‘Centre’ for the implementation of ILP in the state.”

“However, Union Home Minister Shinde straight way rejecting the resolution is unfortunate. By rejecting the resolution, it simply means that he wants to erase the identities of Manipuris.”

Subsequently, the party has urged the state government to implement Inner Line Permit system in the state. The party has also assured that they will take active role in fulfilling the demand of the people.
