MOREH, November 1: As in other places, the post harvest festival was also celebrated at the Galngam Lentuol Kut ground.
The celebration was attended by all communities residing in the Moreh border town.
Representatives of various civil bodies, officials of several government offices also participated the function.
The major highlights of the morning session were dance shows by dance contingents from Myanmar and communities of Manipur.
The inaugural function of the celebration was also attended by MLA D Korungthang as chief guest, ADC Chairman Lunkhosei Zou as president and ADC, Moreh Th Chote SBI Imphal Manager Momo Aimol and Dy Commissioner, Tamu district Myanmar, Kyaw Zaw Lin as guests of honour.
Addressing the function, MLA D Korungthang said today the celebration of Kut is not confined only to the Kuki-Chin-Mizo communities but it has become a celebration for all communities residing in the region.
He further appealed to all communities residing in the area to shun violence and to continue living in peace and unity and bring development to the town.
Main highlight of the evening session is the Miss Kut pageant.
