IMPHAL, Nov 14: The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, president Gaikhangam has wished the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of the Ningol Chakkouba.
A statement has said that the Meetei community has been celebrating the day since time immemorial.
It has said that the festival is now being celebrated by several tribal communities appealed by the beauty of the celebration of the brother-sister love.
The MPCC leader has also expressed his wished for the people of the state to leave violence and move towards a united and developed society.
Meanwhile, MP Dr Th Meinya has also wished the people of the state on the occasion of Nigol Chakkouba in a separate press release.
The release has said that parents and brothers invite their married daughters and sisters for a feast to celebrate the bond of brother-sister love.
