Teinam road in dreadful condition

IMPHAL, November 17: Dreadful road condition is the biggest challenge encountered by the people of Teinam Village under 45-Chingai assembly constituency of Ukhrul District.

The said village is located at a distance of 67 km from Imphal, with a population of around 4320 villagers.

Speaking to media persons at the residence, the Headman of Teinem Village who is also the Advisor of Ukhrul District Chief/Headman Association, W Ngamchuipui said that due to the pathetic condition of the roads transportation from Teinam Village to Imphal, it has taken a lot of hours to reach Imphal.

Lamenting the dreadful condition of road, he further maintained – that during rainy season it takes whole day to reach Imphal from Teinem. He confidently said to the media person that it would take only 2-hours time if the road condition from Teinem to Imphal is good.

He further said that the village has great potential in agricultural farms produce. He said nearly 4 Shaktiman truckloads of potato can be produced from 200 tins of potato, as the soil is very fertile. He further added that the vegetable grown in the village are natural without fertilizer.

Lamenting the current dreadful road condition, the headman further said that many huge loads of vegetable like cabbage, potato becomes rotten on way due to landslide and many are lost before reaching the market due to bad road condition.

The village headman further lauded the villager for their support and cooperation in various activities. He further lauded the sincerity of SDO and DC of the area.
