Ningol Chakkouba Celebration 2012 at London
London: Upholding the culture and tradition of Manipur, the Pibas’ of European Manipuri Association (EMA) organised this year’s Ningol Chakkauba on 24th November 2012 at East Ham, London. Like every year, the traditional feast was attended by Ningols of various ethnic communities of Manipur residing in different parts of Europe. It’s also one of the rare occasions where people from Manipur residing in Europe come together to meet each other.

This festival strengthens the bond of love between brothers and sisters, parents and daughters and friends. Its reaffirms family ties when the occasion en kindles the love and affection between them. For the people of Manipur origin in Europe, this festival has become a bonding mechanism to strengthen the affinity among the members across Europe, a beautiful day to pass on their culture & heritage to the next generation.
Some of the senior members, who spoke on the occasion expressed their sincere gratitude to the organising committee and Pibas of EMA,and stressed the importance of celebrating Ningol Chakkouba in the context of its historical perspective and its relevance among the larger diaspora of Manipur origin across the Globe.
The event was closed by exchanging khudol (gifts) , greetings, blessings, and reaffirmations by the participants to celebrate the occasion again with the same spirit and vigour in the next year.
