IMPHAL, Dec 4: The Directorate of Manipur has announced a new traffic movement regulation with effect from 4 December, 2012 to 3 January, 2013 in view of the construction works under sewerage project and widening of roads within the Imphal City.
According to the Directorate order, traffic movement of all Auto Rickshaws and mega diesels auto rickshaws plying from Porompat, Kongba, Wangkhei routes toward Sanjenthong, Kangla Road and Pologround shall be diverted towards New Checkon, Hatta, Minuthong Bridge, North AOC and proceed on Kangla Road (NH-2) for dropping passengers opposite Indira Park near G.M. Hall.
The Autos and Mega Diesel Auto Rickshaws for return trip shall then proceed towards western Gate of Kangla park for picking up passengers beyond western Gate of Kangla park opposite Johnstone Higher Secondary School and proceed towards Nityaipat Chuthek, G.P.O and Sanjenthong Bridge.
All Auto Rickshaws and Mega Diesels Auto Rickshaws vehicles approaching from Singjamei side (Thoubal side) shall be diverted from Singh & Co (Petrol Pump), Moirangkhom via Keishamthong, Keishampat and Wahengbam Leikai and shall park at Nagamapal (between Sulabh Toilet and Crematorium) for dropping and picking up of passengers and return on the same route.
Traffic movement and parking arrangement by Traffic Authority, Imphal West in respect of vehicles from Tiddim Road (Bishnupur, Moirang, Churachandpur), Mayang Imphal Road and Uripok – Kangchup Road shall remain the same.
It has also mentioned that the order was issued on the recommendation of the Dy Superintendent of Police (Imphal West).
