IMPHAL, January 2: Locals of the Wangkhei Thangjam Leirak fromed a JAC and partly dismantled the house of a youth yesterday morning who is said to be allegedly involved in the suspicious death of a youth on the 31 December late morning.
The deceased youth has been identified as Thangjam Bikash (21) son of Ranbir of Wangkhei Thangjam leirak and the alleged accused is identified as Moirangthem Rishi (20) son of Kunjakeshor of Wangkhei Thokpam Leikai,
According to Thangjam Ranbir, the father of the deceased, “My son was called out by Moirangthem Rishi at around 11am from our house and failed to return home till 3.30 am. When I tried to contact him over the mobile phone, the call was taken by a man who identified himself as a security personal posted at JNIMS hospital. He asked me to come to the hospital casualty immediately.” When he reached JNIMS casualty, his son was nowhere to be found but was instead told his dead body had sent to the morgue for post mortem while the hospital authority had filed a case of drug overdose as cause of death.
