Adventure training program concludes

IMPHAL, January 8: A `Graduation` for 7-Day Outdoor Education on Adventure and Youth Leadership Training Programme organized under the NPYAD Scheme of Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India by Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association (MMTA) was held at Manipur Mountaineering Institute at Lamdan today.

Speaking on the occasion, Th Radheshyam Singh, Superintendent of Police  Bishnupur District said the camp is an important learning process for the youths who are participating in it. He expressed his pleasure and appreciation that the camp was being participated by youths from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

He said, “The camp is for youths who are the pillars of the nation and being here will imbibe them with discipline, courage and make them ready to face the challenges which would come in their life in the future.” He also added that such exposures will teach them the qualities required to become a leader. “The youths will get the opportunity to learn the leadership qualities here,” he said adding his appreciation for the villagers of the area for their support and cooperation for making the camp a grand success.

The occasion was presided over by Dr L Surjit Singh, President MMTA and attended by SD Henpa, Chairman of Charoi Khulen Village; and N Ibungochoubi, Executive Editor of Manipur Mail as guests of honour.

The camp which is first of its kind in the North east was attended by 50 campers from 10 to 15 years of age hailing from Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. The best camper award was bagg Khurailakpam Surjit and all the campers were awarded with certificates.
