IMPHAL, January 23: A press note of the Superintendent of Police, Imphal West has said that on January 22, Imphal West Police Commandos arrested one active member of PREPAK(PRO) from Chajing Mamang leikai near Mahaluxmi Indane.The arrested person has been identified as Sapam Sajou alias Tachou Singh (47) son of (L) S SeJungba Singh of Chajing Mamang Leikai, Awang. It said on spot verification, he disclosed that he was working under one Amu, Erei and Esingjao of PREPAK(PRO).
“He was assigned to extort money from the officers and contractors of Minor Irrigation Dept. for party fund of PREPAK (PRO),” it said.
The same day, a combined team of Imphal West Police commando and 10 AR arrested one active member of KYKL (MDF) organization from Koutruk Ching Leikai area identified as Leishangthem Hiran Singh (25) son of L Chandrakriti Singh of Koutruk Ching Leikai, the press note said.
“On spot verification, he disclosed that he was working under one s/s corporal Nongshaba of KYKL (MDF) from Heibongpokpi since January 2007”, it added.
Furthermore, he disclosed that he transports rations for other cadres of KYKL (MDF) upto one of their temporary camp located on top of Koutruk hill, it said.
