VDF personnel among arrested KYKL sympathizers: police

IMPHAL, February 5: Thoubal district commandos conducted a search operation at Pallel bazar on February 4 and arrested three KYKL sympathizers with one of them identifying himself as a VDF personnel of Bishnupur district, informed a press statement of the Thoubal SP.
The statement said at around 5:30pm, one suspected Tata Magic red in colour and bearing registration no MN-04A15968 which was coming from Moreh side was stopped for checking.
“On checking of the vehicle three occupants -the driver and two other occupants were found inside the vehicle” said the release and added that on verification, the driver identified himself as Wahengbam Suresh Singh (21) son of W Malasana Singh of Kumbi Setapur and the two occupants were identified as Moirangthem Suresh Singh (27) son of M Meijao Singh of Kumbi Ame Leikai, VDF No 0154 of Bishnupur district and posted at Kumbi Police station and Khangembam Bocha Singh (26 )son of Kh Tombi Singh of Kumbi, Ame Leikai.
“On questioning, Oirangthem Suresh Singh disclosed that they are sympathizers of proscribed outfit KYKL and had gone to Moreh on February 3 in the same Tata magic along with two other girls aged between 15-17 years”.
The two girls were handed over to one Sova at Moreh who is a s/s cpl of KYKL for recruitment to the outfit and they were given Rs. 5000 for each girl, the statement said.
