IMPHAL, February 26: The United Revolutionary Front, Manipur has said in a press release that a united voice against the Indian Army from the people of Manipur is due. The statement signed by its secretary information and publicity AK Pibarel has said that the Indian security forces have been taking up several steps in order to quash the armed movement in Manipur and check the spread of its message. The steps taken up include surrender project, Suspension of Operation, peace talk, tripartite talk and signing of Memorandum of Understanding, it said.

It continued that the people might have praised the Manipur police for arresting six drug suppliers including a PRO of the Indian army Col Ajay Choudhury however there is also no denying that the general public might be worried of the fact that the owners of the drug consignment which was seized from the Imphal Airport by the SIU has been concealed from them and hence continue to question about the identity of the owner.

The statement further said that some 30 years ago Manipur was in the map of the International drug trafficking route through which heroin no 4 produced inside the factories of the Golden triangle was taken to Amsterdam- the drug capital of the world. The road had been closed down for some year, however it seems that it has been opened again.
