Imphal, Sep 25: A combined team of the Imphal East district police commandos and personnel of the 23 Assam Rifles arrested four cadres of the underground KCP (MC) including one female cadre who was involved in the bomb attack at the residence of PA of state Health minister on September 23 at Nongpok Kakching.
According to an official source, the said combined team during their search operations conducted yesterday morning around 10 am were able to arrest one cadre of KCP (MC) identified as Thounaojam Shyam alias Inao, 27, son of Th Khomei of Langmeidong Awang Leikai from Nongdam Maning Leikai and recovered from him one pistol containing a magazine loaded with four live rounds.
The source further mentioned that the arrested cadre was confirmed to have joined the outfit through one Khumanlambam Jiten alias Taison, son of Kh Shamu of Nongren around the beginning of this year.
The source said in follow up operations by the same combined team Khumanlambam Jiten Singh alias Taison, 40, son of Kh Shamu of Nongren Mayai Leikai was arrested by the security forces yesterday afternoon from his own residence and security forces also the police reportedly seized two demand letters of KCP (MC) from his possession, the source added.
The source said the security forces during preliminary interrogation of the arrested persons found that he is an active member of KCP (MC) and involved in various activities of extortions from public, government employees, and other public enterprises, besides these he also involved in transportation of weapons for the party through one Ningombam Ongbi Thoibi, 40, wife of late N Goura of Maklang Mayai Leikai, presently resident of Khurai Sajor Leikai.
The official source further mentioned that in their continued operations another lady cadre of the same outfit identified as Ningombam Ongbi Achom Ningol Thoibi Devi, 40, of Khurai Sajor Leikai, was arrested by the said combined security forces from her residence yesterday afternoon around 2.15 pm, for her six demand letter of KCP (MC) were also recovered by the security forces.
The official source further mentioned during the preliminary interrogation she revealed to the police that she is an active memebr of the under ground KCP (MC) and she had involved in the explosion of hand grenade at the residence of one Huirem Bimol of Nongpok Kakching presently working as PA of State Helath minister Ph Parijat on September 23 this month.
In yet another incident, a troop of 12 Maratha Light Infantry of 9 Sector under HQ (IGAR (South) apprehended one cadre of under ground PULF (Azad) faction identified as Md Abdul Karim alias Tomba alias Phungjao, 30, son of Md Manao of Irong Chesaba during search operation conducted by the troops at Irong Chesaba area on September 22. The arrested person was handed over to Mayang Imphal police station on the same day, said a source of PRO IGAR (South) Imphal.
Further today, a combined team of Thoubal commandos, 21 Para and 15 AR conducted a search operation at Salungpham village acting on a information about the presence of armed cadres of valley underground groups in the area.
A cadre of the KCP (MC) named N Surjit Meitei alias Achaiba, 27, son of N Gojen Meitei of Nongmaikhong Makha Leikai was arrested from Salungpham Mayai Leikai and a 9 mm pistol with magazine, four live rounds, one .36 HE grenade and three demand letters of the KCP (MC) recovered from him.
On questioning he disclosed that he is an active member of the KCP (MC).
