LAMKA, April 7: In continuation of its commitment towards reviving and revamping the dilapidated education system in the Zo Highlands of Southern Manipur, the Siamsinpawlpi (Paite Students’ Welfare Association) visited Government High Schools at Leijangphai (60kms from Lamka) and Bukpi (176kms from Lamka), both under the Thanlon Sub-Division on April 3 and 4, 2013 to ascertain the various issues faced by students, teachers and parents of these interior villages.

A lively interaction session was held at the Bukpi Community Hall where the villagers actively shared their thoughts and ideas on how to improve the education system in this far-flung area.

Members of the Siamsinpawlpi delegation also interacted with the students at the Bukpi Government High School to gauge their understanding and comprehension of their syllabi.

It may be noted here that due to the persistent efforts of the Siamsinpawlpi, some Government-run schools under Singngat and Thanlon sub-divisions, namely, Bukpi Government High School, Sinzawl Government High School and Suangdoh Government High School have been revived in the Hills of Southern Manipur.

With active support from the respective MLAs (Vungzagin Valte from Thanlon A/C  and Ginsuanhau from Singngat A/C) as well as the people from these remote areas, the Siamsinpawlpi is hoping to give a new life and meaning to the education system in the Hills of Southern Manipur.
