Train derails at Jiri

    JIRIBAM, April 15: A 25 boggy goods carrier train carrying rice coming from Silchar to Jiribam, met with an accident yesterday at around 2:15 am on its way back.

    The accident took place on a rail bridge built over the Jiri River in between Jiribam and Jirighat, after three boggies of the train collided with each other and derailed.

    Boggy number 6, 7 and 8 were derailed in the accident. There was no causality in the incident. Railway staff however denied to comment on the matter to the media.
