IMPHAL, April 29: The United Committee Manipur (UCM) presented two solar lighting equipments to the people of Kwatha, a village under Chandel district through the Village Chief N Kamal at his residence today.
Representatives of UCM led by its Vice President Chandramani Khumancha including Joychandra Konthoujam, Secretary General; W Bobby, Secretary Finance; Ng Deba, Secretary Information and Public Relations; RK Mangisana, Secretary Account; N Jiban, Secretary HR & LA; H Kumar, Member; and L Inaobi, Assistant Secretary Organization visited Kwatha Village and handed over the solar equipments today.
Speaking at the occasion, Chandramani Khumancha said that UCM has been visiting and studying the shortages in interior areas of the state. As a part of the initiative, the Committee is presenting solar lighting equipments to the people of Kwatha located at the remote area in Chandel district with an aim to bring about an equitable society.
The solar lamps will be fitted at the Haraobung and Community Hall of the area, he added and appealed to the concerned authority to look after the shortages of the village.
N Kamal appreciated UCM for showing affection to the people of Kwatha by presenting the solar lighting equipments and prayed that the committee may long live and prosper in the future.
In an interaction with IFP, Takhellambam Biren, President of the Kwatha People Welfare Organization who also attended the occasion expressed deep appreciation to UCM for its goodwill support and contributions for the people there.
