IMPHAL, May 27: Manipur Film Development Corporation (MFDC) in association with Film Forum Manipur and Television & Cine Foundation Manipur is organizing a felicitation function of Aribam Syam Sharma, Films Division, Doordarshan Northeast and the film crew of ‘Manipuri Pony’ and ‘Leipaklei’ which won awards at the 60th National Film Awards 2013.
After the felicitation function which will be held at MFDC auditorium on May 29, 2013 at 4:45 pm, the mentioned two films will be screened. Anyone who loves alternative cinema is invited to collect free and limited entry pass from 11 am to 5 pm tomorrow and watch the films, Dr K Sobita Devi, Director Art and Culture, and MD MFDC informed.
Award winning Manipuri films have been showed at Mumbai International Film Festival since 2002 and a proposal has been invited to showcase them at the said festival. The responsibility of MFDC is to give input to film lovers and film fraternity, to bring progress in films, she said.
She appealed to fill all the MFDC auditorium seats and watch the screening of the films which will be a rare event that such films are showcased in a theatre. Mention that be made that `Manipuri Pony` got the award in ‘Best exploration film including sports’ and `Leipaklei` under the ‘Best Manipuri feature film` category.
