IMPHAL, June 13: A joint meeting of Lecturers and guardians was organised by All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers’ Welfare Association at Ram Lal Paul Hr. Sec. School today.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, Dr. N. Arunkumar, Convenor of the All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers’ Welfare Association said that resolutions were adopted at today’s meeting and a Joint Committee of parents and the teacher association of Government Higher Secondary Schools comprising of 21 members was also formed for the welfare of the students.
He continued that guardians may approach the association for their wards’ further studies while calling on the concerned authority for extensions of classes XI and XII to Ramlal Paul Hr. Sec School or Bengali High School so as to admit all the students who cannot gain admission to other government schools.
Cautioning against parents admitting their wards to any private schools, he drew the attention of Education Minister Moirangthem Okendro and pointed out that the mushrooming of private schools is a great factor for the decline of government schools
Stating that common admission forms for admission to class XI should be introduced, the number of students who throng a particular school for admission will be reduced and it will enable the concerned authority to provide seats in order of preference.
He appealed to the parents not to focus on schools in Imphal while further appealing to the Education Minister and the CM to provide the required teachers to government schools.
