CPI (M) celebrates Jyoti Basu birth cenetenary

    IMPHAL, July 8: The Communist Party of India (Marxist), Manipur State Committee has today released a press statement stating that the yearlong birth centenary celebration of Jyoti Basu was kick started on July 8, 2013 presided by Meitram Shamu at its office auditorium at Paona Bazar Governor Crossing Road while CPI(M) state secretary Sarat Salam, state secretariat members  Kshetrimayum Santa and Yumnam Ratan, president, secretary, joint secretary of the Manipur Loumee Marup Thangjam Tarpan, Thounaojam Sarat, Nameirakpam Meghachandra delivered speeches in relation with the yearlong celebration.

    The state secretary of the party, Sarat Salam has said that a state level political class, seminars and conventions and symposium will be organised in order to strengthen mass fronts of the party and left movement in the state of Manipur while further narrating the sayings of Kshetrimayum Santa that Jyoti Basu had applied the frameworks of Marxism in Indian society thereby making way to establish Communist Party of India (Marxist), it said.
