IMPHAL, July 9: The Khwairamband Bazar Vendors Nupi Yaipha Lup has today issued a press release expressing their grievances saying that the govt of Manipur has been giving assurance of providing a suitable place in and around bazaar area for the Khairamband bazaar street vendors who are earning their livelihood by selling vegetables and related items which also helps state economy a little bit while adding that there is a confusion in the head counts of street venders. The press release further said that govt counts the heads street venders as 30, 000 whereas it is 2000 to 3000 only at the most.
Expressing their demand, the press release urged the Chief Minister of Manipur to arrange spaces at the first floor of the three Ima Keithel or at the temporary market set now using as parking while further requesting him to come to a solution instead of dispersing the poor street vendors, it said.
