IMPHAL, July 31: Two national award winning film “The Silent Poet” produced and directed by Borun Thokchom and Oinam Doren’s film “Songs of Mashangva” will be screened during a three day long ‘Indie 8’ film festival at Meghalaya’s capital Shillong.
The two budding film makers from the state were also invited to take part in the three days festival cum workshop and panel discussion.
The festival “Indie8” will be held from August 1 to 3.
“Indie8” will acknowledge and celebrate the growth of film making with special emphasis on documentary and Independent film making in the region.
This festival will showcase films of socio cultural relevance from all the eight different states of Northeast.
“Indie8” will also incorporate open category film making competition, workshops, and panel discussions where prominent film makers and film academicians of the North Eastern Region were invited as resource persons.
The festival is being organized in collaboration with DIPR, Govt of Meghalaya and sponsored by Directorate of Arts & Culture, Govt of Meghalaya.
