A new 12 metre wide road has been constructed by carving the hill on the Heritage Complex side at Kohima in place of the old road which was sunk due to the landslide.

Big stones have been laid on the gorge side of the road and it has been cemented to prevent from further landslide.

A drainage system has also been provided on the other side to prevent water from damaging the road.
