KANGLATONGBI, AUG 17: The five-day long photo exhibition on the theme ‘Development Initiatives in North East’ concluded today at Kanglatongbi Panchayat Hall in Imphal West District.
The mass awareness campaign about the various developmental projects undertaken by the Government of India was organized by the Field Exhibition Office, Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity (DAVP), Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, Imphal.
On the opening day function on August 13, Shiv Kumar Basnet, Pradhan, Kanglatongbi Gram Panchaya addressing the gathering, informed that some of the central schemes such as MGNREGS have been successfully implemented under Kanglatongbi Gram Panchayat.
He pointed out the positive roles of ASHA workers on the female communities during pregnancy. On the health front, the Pradhan regretted the absence of doctor at Kanglatongbi Primary Health Sub-Centre.
He also highlighted the need for better communication with regards to the schemes and policies of government for public.
Welcoming the exhibition, Devi Prasad Siwakoti, Retd Headmaster said that this kind of visual exhibition will help even the illiterate citizens to understand the various developmental schemes and policies being layout by the government.
A collection of about 130 photographs from the north east were displayed during the exhibition.
