KANGPOKPI, September 14: Kangchup Geljang Govt Primary School under the Deputy Inspector of Schools, Saitu-Gamphajol, Sadar Hills has been inaugurated today at K Geljang village by Ngamthang Haokip, minister IFCD, Printing & Stationery.
The minister graced the inauguration function as chief guest while Thangcha SK Vaiphei, circle MDC and Seikholet Singsit, DI/DDO, Saitu Gamphajol attended as functional president and guest of honour respectively.
“Development comes through unity, peace and harmony”, said the IFCD minister in his speech adding that various developmental programs have been planned for development of the Kangchup areas which require the fullest cooperation and support of the people living in the areas irrespective of caste, creed and religions.
“Singda Dam will be renovated and beautified very soon so that everyone can feel it’s real beauty”, noted the minister while adding that as part of the beautification process, Gulmohor saplings have already been planted around the dam.
More than seventy thousand saplings have been planted so far and the plantation work is in progress. More than one lakh sapling will be planted, added the Minister.
More beautification and development process of the dam are in the pipeline, he said. The minister also assured to open a State Bank of India Branch at K.Geljang village soon.
SDO office will also be set up at K Geljang Village while the present Police Station at Kangchup will also be upgraded, he added.
The IFCD minister also assured the K Geljang villagers that the inaugurated primary school building will be constructed as per their request made in the memorandum submitted to him today by the Village Authority and black topping upto the Church campus will be executed in action.
Thangcha SK Vaiphei, circle MDC assured to render cooperation and support for the success of the propose beautification and developmental programme likely to be executed by the Minister.
