IMPHAL, October 5: The Popular Front of India, Manipur State has concluded its first phase of relief project at riot hit Muzaffarnagar, claimed a statement.
A press statement of the front said it had set up Relief Distribution team, Village Survey team and Legal Aid team and distributed relief kits to 3000 deserving families in 16 villages.
“Along with distribution of relief materials, collecting details of the riot-affected people and identifying the requirement of legal assistance were also being attended by the volunteers in the 16 villages,” the statement stated.
It further added that a Legal Aid Team consisting of 21 members with practicing lawyers, activists and law students has also been formed to provide legal aid to the victims for fighting their cases.
