Contractors body threatens legal action on failure to release outstanding amounts

    IMPHAL, October 10: The Manipur Hills and Plains Contractors’ Association today called a press conference at the Manipur Press Club, demanding fund release of funds under SPA 8449 and 8443; non plan and plan.

    Speaking to media persons, spokesperson Kh Rajen said that there are several outstanding funds of works undertaken under the SPA 8449 and 8443 and non-plan and plan since a long time back.

    While appealing to the concerned authorities to release the outstanding funds at the earliest before the festival, he said the in case the authorities fail to take the desired actions on the appeal, the association would take legal actions.

    Further continuing on the issue, he said that the association had convened a meeting today earlier during which it was resolved that the works of the PMGSY Phase IX shall be carried out by the contractors themselves and that they should not hand over their profiles to other sub-contractors and anyone that actions would be taken against anyone found violating the resolution.
