IMPHAL, October 11: As part of its campaign against illicit drugs, the Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA) in collaboration with Brilliant Youth & Library Club Lambal and Lamban Nupi Lup, Lambal organized a day long awareness programme on ‘’Nisa Na Khunaida Piba Cheitheng Amasung Masibu Thingbada Meeyamgee Thoudang’’ today at Lambal Community Hall in Imphal West district.
It was attended by Jhaljit Maisnam, vice-president CADA; Khumanthem Sanahanbi, Member Ward no 9 Mayanglangjing GP and Khaidem Pati as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering as resource person, Md Nasir Ahmed, Dy Superintendent of Excise cum Prohibition Officer Thoubal & Chandel stated that only customary law alone cannot curb the menace of drugs.
Though there are certain laws in the state which prohibits use and sale of illegal drugs, he said, the drug business would be solved only when the powerful and influential persons who are engaged in business are punished according to law.
