IMPHAL, October 18: A sit-in-protest demonstration was staged at Khurai Sajor Leikai today appealing for the safe release of an excavator operator who went missing since October 14 last.
The missing individual has been identified as Devraj, 23, son of late M Uttor who is a resident of Lairou Pukhri Mapal, along Imphal-Ukhrul road, in the locality.
Family sources informed that Devraj left home on October 14 morning with the excavator for some construction work Bashikhong, Kongba.
When he failed to return home the same night, the family reportedly tried in vain to trace his whereabouts in several places including Basikhong. Despite the efforts of the family Deveraj has remained traceless till date.
A case has reportedly been registered at the concerned police station in this regard.
Meanwhile, it has been informed that a memorandum will be submitted to the Chief Minister, demanding his intervention in the finding the missing person.
