Black Pot and movement selected for Festival of Moving Image Art

    IMPHAL, October 18: After the recent selection of a documentary film ‘Kungyee’ directed by independent filmmaker of the state Chaoba Thiyam for World Premiere at Aperture Festival, Asia Pacific International Ethnographic Documentary Festival at Melbourne, Australia slated for November 22 to 23, in yet another feat of the filmmaker, his experimental short film “Black Pot and Movement” has been selected for screening at the prestigious EXPERIMENTA 2013 – the Festival of Moving Image Art in India , scheduled for November 27 – December 1 at the Goethe Institute, Bangalore.

    The `film  is a search for a new movement by two dancers (Mayuka Ueno Gayer from Japan and Surjit Nongmeikapam (Bonbon) from Manipur picking up the Longpi Chaphu (Black Pot) in Manipur as an interface between the body and the region.

    The film is produced, conceptualized and performed by Mayuka Ueno Gayer and Surjit Nongmeikapam (Bonbon), director of Photography by Saikhom Ratan and supported by the Japan Foundation, New Delhi.
