PREPAK appeals

IMPHAL, November 9: The proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), while informing that it is organising “Athoubasingi Ningsing Numit” on December 12, appealed to the public to refrain from organising any form of entertainment on the day.  

A statement issued by the outfit’s Assistant Secretary, Publicity and Propaganda, Leibakngakpa Luwang, also urged the people to join the outfit in paying revolutionary homage to those who sacrificed their lives for revolutionary cause, by lighting a lamp in front of their gate at 7 pm in the evening.

It recalled that two cadres of the outfit namely Ayekpam Dhiren alias Angam of Sagolband Loukrakpam Leikai and Phurailatpam Kabikanta alias Leimu alias Leingam Sharma of Sagolband Meino Leirak had sacrificed their lives along with a cadre of PLA namely Pukhrambam Gambhir of Singjamei Makha Naorem Leikai in an attack of a combined force comprising of SI Sunil Sharma and ASI Naorem Shyamjai of Manipur Police and Narendrapal of CRPF on the November 12, 1978 in a transit camp at Leimarok of Kameng. PREPAK started observing the incident as ‘Athoubasing gi Ningsing Numit’ on the day the following year. In another incident, leader of the outfit RK Tullachandra sacrificed his life during an attempt to overpower the personnel of 7th Manipur Rifles deployed at Kabowakching Sugar Mill on the November 12, 1985, it said.

It further promised that PREPAK and its armed wing the Red Army will selflessly lead the revolutionary movement to its pre-determined goal.
