IMPHAL, March 8: The School Management and Development Committee (SMDC) of Kasom Khullem has opposed the notification of District Programmed Management (DPM) which is under Adhoc management for the sanctioning of funds for the construction of Educational Grantee Schools (EGS) under SSA on Saturday.
It was stated by general secretary of SMDC Julia Shinglai in a press conference at the All Manipur Students Union (AMSU) headquarters.
She further said that for the establishment to look after the EGS by senior villagers or the chief of the village as a convener and for the construction of EGS, the funds will be released through their own bank account for which there is a provision already.
However, contradicting the centrally-sponsored SSA schemes for the development of education system, a notification was issued by DPM that all funds have to be withdrawn from the DPM account and the funds which were already released have been ceased.
She further made a statement that it is a discrimination which have to be stopped at the earliest in consideration for the education system in the state.
