IMPHAL, April 12: Re-poll in the six polling stations of Outer Manipur assembly constituency concluded peacefully with voter turnout stated to be around 82 percent.
According to an official report, said that under heavy security deployment in all the six polling stations the repoll was conducted and there has been no interruption or obstruction.
Poll percentage at 41/21-Lambung of 41-Chandel AC polled percentage is stated to be 88%, at 42/26-Molnoi of 42-Tenoupal AC at 94.75%, at 44/2 Sanakeithel of Ukhrul AC at 68.4%, at 46/45-Kaihao Tangkhul of 46-Saikul at 80.98%, at 47/5-Kapao of Karoung AC at 84.5% and 47/19-Phaibung Khunou of 47 Karong at 77%.
R Lester Makang add from Ukhrul: Even as the exact figure from the presiding officer is awaited, the voters turn out percentage in today`s re-polls at Sanakeithel polling station number 44/2 under 44- Ukhrul AC in the Outer Manipur PC has been tentatively worked out at 68.41 here this evening.
The district election office, Ukhrul, this evening revealed that repoll in the Sanakeithel polling station 44/2 has roughly recorded 68.41 per cent till 3 pm, while adding that the exact figure of voters turn out could not be immediately worked out as information from the presiding officer Ngamreiwung Luithui could not be immediately accessed.
Sources further said that till 3 pm on Saturday the female voters turn out has been recorded at 351 while that of male at 414 adding upto 765 out of the total 1117 voters in the particular polling station.
At the same time, official reports have said that the repoll at Sanakeithel polling station today passed off peacefully without any poll related incidents of violence.
Ukhrul SDO Worshang Hungyo was magistrate, while Section Officers Worngam, Joy Kumar Singh and Nilmani Singh were the polling officers respectively during the repolls at the station.
Ruwngthung Hrangbung adds from Chandel: Re-poll in one polling station each of the two Parliamentary constituencies of Chandel for the 16th Lok Sabha election passed off peacefully today without any report of poll related violence from the stations where polling was held.
41/21-Lambung of 41-Chandel with a total of 670 electorates recorded 88 percent voters turnout while 42/26-Molnoi of 42-Tengnoupal having total of960 voters recorded 94 turnout.
