IMPHAL, April 12: The Congress party has recently absorbed five MSCP MLAs along with the party fearing me, said Dr M Nara Singh the common candidate of the Left and Secure Alliance.
He was delivering a speech at an election meeting at Heirangoithong Volleyball ground in Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Kendra on Saturday.
During the meeting, Nara further opined that India is the biggest democratic country in the world, however, the election process, which is an important tool of democracy is not on the right track.
He further propagated the Proportionate Electoral System which is presently practiced in 80 countries across the globe excluding India and further added that he will try to implement Proportionate Electoral System in India if he is elected to the parliament of the country. He also mentioned that he is the national convenor for Campaign for Electoral Reforms in India.
He said while casting his vote for the Outer Lok Sabha, he had witnessed Congress workers of distributing Rs 100 notes to voters.
Nara also asserted that he had heard that each Congress MLA in the inner constituency have been handed Rs 15 lakh each to be used during the election.
The CPI candidate also mentioned that if he was elected to the parliament of India, he will give attention to solve the issue of Armed Forces Special Powers Act and the Indo Myanmar Border Fencing and also for the welfare of the working people, women and child etc.
He also said that the people of Manipur considered him as Dr Nara not as candidate of CPI.
The election meeting was jointly presided by Aheibam Thoiba Singh and Chongtham Budhichandra Singh while Sorokhaibam Sarat Singh delivered key note and welcome address.
During the meeting, the vice president of the NCP ex minister N Biren Singh and the secretary of the party Y Iboyaima Singh and BSP president Kabita Devi delivered their speeches.
