IMPHAL, April 25: India’s oldest parliamentarian, Rishang Keishing and musicologist Laishram Birendrakumar Singh will be presented with honorary degrees during the 14th convocation of the Manipur University, on April 29, 2014.
India’s president, Pranab Mukherjee will attend the function as the chief guest, while Governor of Manipur will attend as the guest of honour, while chancellor professor Dilip M Nachene will preside over the convocation.
The program will be held in two sessions.
The President will be handing out the honorary degrees to the two renowned personalities during the opening session.
He will leave the venue at 4:30 pm.
Certificates, gold medals and cash awards will also be presented to the students later.
