The meeting came to a gentlemen agreement that all the demands of the JAC will be met on or before the end of October this year.
Some of the key demands of the JAC are that the government should be able to give all the benefits as promised under the provision of the Khuga Dam, no inauguration until the full completion of the project, clearance of pending bills of the local contractors etc.
As the deadline comes to an end today and yet no substantial development was made by the state government following which a meeting was convened today and decided to go ahead with the ban after a deliberate discussion taking serious note of the attitude of the government. Besides the ban on work, the JAC also disallowed opening of all shops and entry of vehicles within the Dam campus.
