Chandel district vigilance to stage sit in protest on Sept 29

CHANDEL, September 26: Recalling the former Manipur Governor VK Duggal assuring the sanction of Rs 13 crores during his last visit to the district for restoration and repairing of the newly upgraded NH 102C (Pallel – Chandel) with March 2015 as time of completion, the people of Chandel have been eagerly waiting to see the road that was turned into a highway getting restored and repaired soon, said Chandel Naga People`™s Organisation.

Seeking the authorities concern to expedite the process and formalities of the work, the organisation expressed hope that the work is getting started soon and would be completed as per the timeline.

Speaking to media persons, president of the organisation Ws Kanral Anal narrated the grievances face by the people and said during the rainy season the road is flooded and dusty during the dry seasons making the people prone to diseases.

Making his fervent appeal he expressed hoped that all formalities including tender of the work will be initiated so as to start the work from next month.

Meanwhile, in another development, the Chandel District Vigilance Committee in a statement has announced to stage a sit-in protest at the district head quarter on September 29 in collaboration with BJP Chandel district regarding the grievances of the public in the district.

DVC president BD Betha said a memorandum on the grievance of the people will be submitted to the Prime Minister seeking his intervention and appealed to the people to participate in the sit in.

He also said that during a joint meeting with MACA representatives as well as CO of BRTF and his officials on September 1, it was resolved that the BRTF would filled up the pot holes from Chandel to Chakpikarong soon after the rainy season, for which the DVC thanked the CO.
