IMPHAL, October 30: North-East Forum for International Solidarity (NEFIS) has condemned the whole judicial process and travesty of Irom Sharmila in a press release. NEFIS is against this type of judicial procedure where a peaceful protester protesting against injustice and draconian law AFSPA is harassed, the press release said, adding that it is an injustice done to her even after her 14 years long fast. Not only the people of North-East but also the people all over the country should come together and fight against such Draconian law AFSPA, where the rights of humanity is being violated, the press release said.
It is the high time that the Indian Government look forward to the demand of the movement and especially the protest of Irom Sharmila and this judicial travesty should be stop at the earliest, it adds.
After the court hearing today, a delegation of NEFIS also met Irom Sharmila and extended its Solidarity in support of Irom Sharmila’s struggle and for the Scraping of Arms Forces Special Power Act (AFSPA), the press release issued by NEFIS convenor Chinglen Koumukchom and NEFIS media-coordinator Hem Chandra Brahma said.
