IMPHAL, Dec 11: Troops of the 12 Hihar of 9 Sector AR apprehended a KCP (MC) cadre on December 9 at a vehicle check post it established in the general area of Takyel.
According to a release of the PRO, an Auto Rickshaw with Registration No MN 01L 1460 was stopped for checking which led to therecovery of a 9mm pistol along with magazine and 2 live rounds of 9 mm.
The apprehended person was identified as SS Sgt. Sarakhaibam Tondonba Meitei alias Amy, 24, son of Ito Meitei of Puknao Leipokpai.
The apprehendee along with the recovered items has been handed over to the Patsoi Police Station, it said.
In another operation, troops of 24 AR of 26 Sector apprehended an active cadre of PLA on December 9 at a vehicle check post at Sita Road Junction.
The apprehendee was identified as Cpl. Potshangbam Sanaton Singh alias Hemat, 28, son of P. Lokendro Singh of Keisamthong Top Moirangningthou Leirak, Imphal West. The apprehendee has been handed over to the Singjamei Police Station, it said.
