JIRIBAM: December 14: A book entitled, `Ichelshigee Iraokhol`, written exclusively by writers of Jiribam was released today at the auditorium of Jiribam Higher Secondary School, organised by the All Jiribam Women`™s Association, AJWA Jiribam.
The book was released by the chief guest, Dr Gouramani Sharma Aribam, president of the Manipur Sahitya Parishad, Jiribam, commemorating the 75th anniversary of Nupi Lal. A poetry recital session was also held during the book release function.
The function was also graced by K Jubati Devi, vice president, AJWA, and Dr N Bijeya Devi, Principal of Jiri College. Giving the key note address, Tombiton Devi, general secretary of AJWA, stated that the book written by women writers of Jiribam was release to encourage the writers. She lamented that the number of writers in Jiribam has been dwindling.
It may be mentioned that `Ichelshigee Iraokhol` is an anthology of 79 poems, written exclusively by women writers.
