IMPHAL, February 19: BJP Manipur Pradesh president Thounaojam Chaoba, assured the people of Sadar Hills that the sub-division would be converted into a full-fledged district if BJP comes to power.
The BJP president was speaking during a one day political awareness cum mass enrolment programme of BJP organised today at Hengbung Community Hall, Hengbung Senapati district.
Chaoba attended as the chief guest while C Doungel executive member BJP, as function president.
The programme was also attended by I Mangiton, vice president BJP, ex-MLA Doukhomang Khongsai, N Basanta BJP General Secretary, L Susildro, secretary, Haokholet Kipgen national vice president All India ST Morcha, professore S Tiken core committee member.
Further during his speech Chaoba recalled that the Government of India officially gave its assent to conversion of Sadar Hills to full-fledged revenue district since 1974 Government but the Congress party has failed to materialise it.
He assured to convert the sub-division to full-fledged district if BJP comes to power in Manipur.
The BJP president further appealed the people of the Sadar Hills to give their votes to BJP as it is projecting 24 candidates during the upcoming ADC election due to be held in May or April.
He expressed his confident that BJP can secure Assembly seats in Saikul, Saitu Gamphajol and Kangpokpi sub-division if the public help securing the 24 ADC seats in the sub-divisions.
Also speaking during the programme, M Asnikumar, general secretary administration, pointed out that the enrolment drive was kicked off in the year 2014 led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He further pointed out that Membership enrolment is categorised in two ways including online membership and conventional enrolment adding that till date it has surpassed 5 crores as national figure and seven thousand through online and over one lakhs through conventional ways in Manipur.
