Ukl SDO office calls for adherence to Hill House Counting submission

UKHRUL, February 20: Although submission of Hill House Counting is a yearly basic responsibility of every revenue village, some villages in Ukhrul district continue to be indifferent to the statutory duty and inordinately delay in submitting the counting, which then results in disruption to the department`s functioning.

Referring to the recent uproar over non issuance of documents/certificates to some individuals by the Sub-divisional office (SDO), HL Christian Home, SDC in an interaction said that issue of all government documents including domicile, tribe certificates are based on Hill House Counting, while adding that failure to submit the counting by any revenue village necessarily leads to stopping of issuing such documents to members of the village.

He maintained that as for the previous year an order was duly issued on 14 October 2014 for submitting the counting latest by 15 December 2014 while lamenting that some villages had nevertheless inordinately delayed the submission till such time when the department took action and ceased issuing documents.

Christian Home then informed that as per government stipulation each household under a revenue village is liable to pay Rs. 15 per annum as tax, while appealing to all villages to submit the counting within the month of November every year for smooth functioning of the department.
