Govt given 4 weeks to file affidavit in RIMS campus churches case

IMPHAL, March 13: A division bench of the Manipur High Court, yesterday ordered the State Government, which is one of the 11 respondents in the Public Interest Litigation, against the construction of two churches within the RIMS campus, to file its affidavits within four weeks.

It may be recalled former project director of the Manipur State AIDS Control Society, MACS, Dr. Khomdon Singh Lisam of Palace Compound had moved the PIL, Case No.19 in 2013.

Yesterday`™s bench constituted of Chief Justice Laxmi Kant Mohapatra and Justice Kh. Nobin Singh.

Respondents No. 10 and No. 11 submitted additional affidavits.

The affidavits mentioned that the RIMS case is currently pending in subordinate court of the Civl Judge Junior Division as MISC Case No. 27 of 2015.
