KANGPOKPI, May 13: The Kuki Inpi Manipur has vehemently condemned the killing of two youths by Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) and termed it as `total disregard of human rights and the law and at the same time regretful`.
A press statement signed by Khaimang Chongloi, General Secretary KIM stated that it is regretful that such incident which incites communal tension occurred frequently nowadays and it is a crime committed by the UG group to take lives of the two youths, whatever reasons they may have.
Appealing all communities not to communalize the incident, the statement said that it is in everybody`™s interest that the people are not swayed by any communal feelings.
The act of certain UG groups should not be construed or mistaken as an act of certain community. The need of the hour is to maintain self restraint and control. It is the duty of both the communities to have mutual respect and understanding, it said.
Police have arrested the KRF cadres and investigation is underway to unearth the truth behind the crime and the law will take its course and the culprits will be punished accordingly, it added.
The statement also expressed sincere condolences to the bereaved families of the youths.
